1. Bergy Bros. Marker
Inscription.
When Bergy Bros. opened the doors of their new mercantile establishment, "The public came, saw a fine display of goods and bought liberally". Messrs. Bergy brothers were gentlemen of experience. Previous to coming to Boyne City, M.E. Bergy had been connected with two Chicago mercantile firms of large capacity, while S.J. Bergy had gained similar experience in Grand Rapids.

The firm kept a general bazaar stock of a well selected assortment of chinaware, toilet articles, stationary, confectionary, plus an elegant line of bound books, souvenirs, table and pocket cutlery, kitchenware, a complete line of notions and an immense selection of post cards.

The building, constructed in 1907, was also the Masonic Temple. The Bergy Bros. ran a successful business until 1925. In the 1930's, S.B. Neymark opened a dry goods store which remained in operation for over thirty years.
