1. South Main Street Marker
Inscription.
Roads were unpaved and autos still shared the road with horse & buggy into the early 1920's. Right, a family enjoys a ride down S. Main, also known as Niles Rd.

Built in the early 1920's this building was known as the Levy Building. Shown below left,, about 1928, it was home to the L.R. Wells Insurance Agency and the Clawson Post Office. it was typical at the time for the Post Office to be located in the business of whomever held the position of Postmaster. Police & Fire Chief Leste Straub is shown patrolling the Village in his motorcycle.

Below right shows Greg's Dairy Bar in 1959, in a newer building adjacent to the Levy Building.
