Clawson in Oakland County, Michigan — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
First City Hall
Downtown Clawson History Walk
Clawson residents voted to incorporate as a village in 1920 and became a city in 1940. The single story building above, which stood just east of this location, served as the village offices and then city offices. City business offices were on the main floor, and the Police department operated out of the basement.
City offices remained here until the current City Hall was built on North Main Street in 1963.
The building was eventually torn down to make way for more parking.
History Walk is a joint project of the Clawson Historical Museum and Clawson Main Street DDA
