Inscription. In 1922, 16 poets and critics, many from Vanderbilt University, began issuing their poetry magazine, The Fugitive. Donald Davidson, John Crowe Ransom, Allen Tate, and Robert Penn Warren went on to write essays for the Agrarian manifesto, I'll Take My Stand, published in 1930.
