1. Murphy-Lasbrooke Home Marker
Inscription. Built by William Murphy, Washington's third postmaster; native woods used throughout home. Home illustrates transition between 18th and 19th century architectural style & form. Washington's first newspaper The Mirror established at this site in 1797 by William Hunter and William Beaumont. Francis Turner purchased the printing press and all printing material in 1799.
