Inscription. Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools. The University of Mary Washington earned AACSB accreditation in November 2018 and the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter was chartered on April 9, 2019.

The Beta Gamma Sigma Bronze Key is a symbol of the value the University of Mary Washington places on academic achievement and excellence for its business students. The Key was installed in 2020 as a gift from Woody and Lynne Richardson, both Beta Gamma Sigma members.
