Regarding Paradise Ranch. Purchased in 1916 as a vacation home by famous movie producer/director Cecil B. DeMille. He passed away in 1959. In 1963, the DeMille Trust bequeathed the property, and for many years it was known as Hathaway Childrens Village, a residential facility for troubled children. In 2010, Hallelujah Prayer Center took over the property and named it Gold Creek Center. Currently, the property runs as a camp, retreat, recreation center, and has worship services.
The 310-acre property has movie set relics, including a heavy iron gate from King of Kings - a 1927 Cecil B. DeMille film about Christ, and a desert boulder that God emblazoned with his laws for Moses people in the 1923 film The Ten Commandments.
