In celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of the Episcopal Diocese of New York at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine Peace Fountain is dedicated to the children of the earth to the creativity they embody and will exercise and to the children of the future to the order they will bring out of the maelstrom lifting the chain of life above nature’s round lighting with flames of freedom a new heaven and a new earth subjects in their victory over pride of the one whose gentle reign will encompass not the license of the fallen but the liberty of the restored in universal peace
