El dia 11 de mayo de 1990 el Papa Juan Pablo II, peregrino del amor y de la paz, visitó desde este lugar a los chiapanecos y al sur de México. Las tres diócesis de Chiapas le dedicamos el presente testimonio de gratitud, por su mensaje evangelizador y a su especial predilección de padre.
