1. John W. Taylor Jr. Marker
Inscription. John W. Taylor, Jr. was born in Mississippi and later moved to St. Louis with his parents in 1938. He is a graduate of Vashon High School. Following the untimely death of his father, he became the President of Taylor's Sausage Company, the first African American owned small business sausage operation which has grown to a major supplier of grocery stores in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Regarding John W. Taylor Jr.. Taylor's Sausage was a meat wholesaler, located at 1822 North Grand Boulevard in St. Louis. It permanently closed in January 2021.
