Parkview, a private residential subdivision designed by Major Julius Pitzman, has been recognized as significant in community planning, landscape design and architecture. The plat and trust indenture were recorded in November of 1905. Eighty-five percent of the houses were erected between 1906 and 1914. The original trustees were John C. Roberts, Adrian O. Rule and Henry S. Caulfield, who served as U.S. Congressman, 1907-1909, and Governor of Missouri, 1929-1933.
