1. The "Hidden" Gate Marker
Inscription. The Ottoman city wall is sealed, but the steps adjacent to it reveal a secret: they allude to the existence of a gate or postern in the city wall from the time of the Second Temple. Presumably this gate led to Herod's palace, which was located nearby.
