Brigadier General J. W. Noles is the Deputy Commander, State Area Command, Tennessee Army National Guard. General Noles is responsible for supervising the training, operations and administration of approximately 3,000 combat service support soldiers of the Tennessee Army National Guard. BG Noles also serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations/G3 Wartime for the United States Eighth Army in Korea.
A native of Huntingdon, General Noles graduated from Cumberland University in Lebanon, receiving a BBA degree in Business Administration, and a Masters Degree in Human Relations Management. General Noles' military education includes Officer Candidate School at Tennessee Military Academy, the Armor Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, and the Command and General Staff College. He is a 1998 graduate of the United States Naval War College with a Master of Arts in National Security.
