1. Two superposed vaulted rooms Marker
Inscription. Two superposed, vaulted rooms, dating to the Second Temple period (first century CE), were preserved to a height of two stories. The rooms are part of a public building, whose continuation lies beneath the street. An opening in the western wall of the upper vaulted room probably led to other rooms in the building. The eastern wall of a tower is visible above the doorway of the room. The tower is one of several towers that were constructed along the Ophel wall during the Byzantine period (fifth century CE).
