Professor Massa's leadership and service guided the Department of Education and inspired students, athletes and colleagues for four decades. He led the creation of the Sports Management program, chaired the Grumbacher Center Design Committee, and served as Department Chair, Academic Senate President, and Long Range Planning Chair, contributing with distinction to the college's growth and success. A longstanding coach of the swim team and men's soccer team, he encouraged generations of athletes to strive for success. A member of the Athletic Hall of Fame, he also received the Alumni Association's Professional Service and Leadership Award and Student Senate Faculty Recogntion Award.
