Educational leader, innovator, inspirational teacher, author, and engaging person, Dean served as Academic Dean, Chair of the Education Department, two-term President of the Academic Senator, Core Review Chair, and Headmaster of York Country Day School. He initiated a Masters of Education program with the University of Pennsylvania and a Study Abroad program with St. Johns College. He received the Sears Outstanding Teacher Award and the Professional Service and Leadership Award. Dean achieved Professor Emeritus status.
