Town of Westford, Massachusetts Historic Marker

Built in 1897, this was the second Westford Academy building, a private academy. The Town paid tuition for Westford students to also attend. In 1928, the Town purchased the building and it became the public high school. The name Westford Academy was retained so graduates would remain eligible to receive scholarships from the Westford Academy Trustees.

William C. Roudenbush School
From 1957 to 1973, this building served the younger grades, renamed in honor of William C. Roudenbush, who served as Principle of Westford Academy from 1912 to 1937. In 1975, the building became the Roudenbush Community Center.
