Opening in 1890, Central Meat Market predated Sturgis’ establishment as a city by six years and throughout its long history has served as a great example of how a local small business can thrive on developing its niche and offering excellent customer service.
Many owners have run the Central Meat Market over the business’ 126- year history, but the longest stretch by a family started in 1949 when Bob Widdel bought the business with Joe Tongiani.
