1. New Hope Baptist Church Marker
Inscription. In 1845 worship services were first held in a brush arbor two miles northeast of this location. The first church building was erected near this site in 1868 and used until 1905. J. E. Watkins deeded an acre of land to the church in 1905 and construction began on the new building. Completed in 1907, timber and foundation rocks from the old building were moved to this site and used in the existing edifice.
