Col. Jacobs is a retired colonel in the United States Army and a Medal of Honor recipient for his actions during the Vietnam War. He was acting as an advisor to the South Vietnamese when his unit came under attack. Severely wounded, Col. Jacobs took command and withdrew the group, returning again and again to the site of the attack to rescue more men. His actions saved the lives of a U.S. advisor and thirteen Allied soldiers.
