Regarding First Stockton High School. Washington School was built on four lots at a cost of $25,724. Two of the lots were donated by city founder, Captain Charles M. Weber. The high school students occupied the two rooms on the second story. A third story was added in 1891 to make room for more high school students. The third story was later removed when the high school students moved to their own building. The structure was purchased in 1958 by the Bank of Stockton and razed. The bank still occupies this location.
