In freshman quarterback Jake Fromm's first SEC start, he connected with Terry Godwin on a 59-yard flea-flicker touchdown pass to set the tone, as #12 Georgia dominated #17 Mississippi State. The win improved the Bulldogs to 4-0 and jump-started a memorable season, highlighted by an SEC Championship Game triumph against Auburn and Rose Bowl victory over Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff. In just his second year as the Bulldogs head coach, former Bulldog All-SEC safety Kirby Smart led his alma mater to the program's 13th SEC title and #2 national ranking.
