"Lest We Forget"
On these pavers, we find the names of Veterans [sic] from
Snyder County, who died while serving their country,
dating from the Civil War to the present day.
Many Civil War veterans who were killed in action are buried in
cemeteries south of the Mason Dixon line in a mass grave,
or in unmarked graves. World War I and World War II
veterans were also buried in the same manner throughout
Europe in National Cemeteries. Most of the casualties
from the Korean, Vietnam, Iraq and War on Terrorism are
buried in local cemeteries. These soldiers were at one time
residents of Snyder County. We must never forget the
sacrifices they all made, so that we can enjoy the
freedom we have today.
Erected 2014.
