1. George King – 1782-1868 Marker
Inscription. Founder and proprietor of Franklin, IN. Leader in the establishment of Johnson County, 1822. Founder of the First Presbyterian Church, Postmaster, Justice of the Peace and benefactor of Franklin College as donor of its original site and member of the first board of directors, 1835-40. First president of the Cemetery Board. Financial supporter of Hanover College and American Tract Society.
