1. Success At Last! Marker
Inscription.
This is possibly the most famous aviation picture of all time. It was taken at 10:35 a.m., December 17, 1903 and shows Orville at the controls. Wilbur, running alongside to balance the machine on the monorail, had just let go of the right wing.

"A couple of small boys, who had come with the men from the station, made a hurried departure over the hill for home on hearing the engine start." - Orville Wright, Diary D, December 14, 1903.

Take a risk and dream.

The brothers realized their dream of flight. Also, the volunteers' dream has been realized.

Our emphasis is on Wilbur, his family, the brothers' struggles and, of course, their success.

The Upper Level The family room has a theater and artifacts of their home and church. This room is dedicated to the Wright family.

The Lower Level-The Kitty Hawk Room contains the full-sized replica of the Wright Flyer.

Behind the plane is a 1903 small town Main Street.

"This is a replica of the Brothers' Kitty Hawk camp, where they lived and worked for three Seasons. Wilbur later said it was the best time of our lives."
