Regarding First Christian Church. Now known as Warsaw Christian Church, it was organized on April 3, 1836 as the Congregation of Jesus Christ at Warsaw. Its first home was at Main and First Streets. The church was inactive during the Civil War, as the pastor fled to Indiana for his safety. Members restarted the church in 1866 and moved to its current home, built by Aaron M. Winters, two years later. The Neo-Gothic sanctuary was fully restored in 2004.
