Inscription.
The "T-2" style of signal was first offered by the Union Switch & Signal Company in 1912 - combining a moving semaphore blade for daytime indication and colored lights for nighttime indication. The aspect (appearance of the signal) is changed by a low-voltage DC motor mounted at the top of the mast. A system of track circuits and relays change the signals to tell train engineers if the track ahead is clear or occupied. As a safety precaution in the event of a power failure, the weight of the semaphore blade causes the signal to fall to the "stop" position.

Signal No. 7272 originally stood alongside the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway mainline near Wagon Mound, New Mexico. The signal was purchased by the Travel Town Museum Foundation in 2006 and was restored and installed here at the Museum by Boy Scout Ryan Heaney of Troop 621 as his Eagle Leadership Project in 2009.

Erected by Metrolink, and Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
