Regarding Knox House - 1830. Born in 1791 in Madison County, Ky., Knox moved to Vevay in 1817. A cabinet maker and undertaker, he was among the trustees appointed in 1828 to build a permanent meeting house for the Methodist Episcopal Church. Knox also was the first Worshipful Master of Switzerland Masonic Lodge No. 122 and also served as president of the Vevay town board.
