The Hammetts Bell was manufactured in 1872 by Vanduzen and Tift at its Buckey Bell Foundry in Cincinnati, and likely hung in a church steeple. The company made thousands of bells until it closed in the early 1950's, and has the distinction of founding the largest bell cast in America.
