Regarding Porter House. Andrew Richard Porter was a brother of Cole Porter's father, Samuel Fenwick Porter. Andrew and Samuel grew up on the Porter family farm in Long Run, a community just northwest of Vevay. Samuel later moved to Peru, Ind. (about 150 miles northwest of Vevay), where Cole Porter was born in 1891. Andrew Porter died in 1930.
