Inscription. Built c. 1885 in the Italianate style by Andrew Porter, uncle to Cole Porter, the famous songwriter and musician.

of Cole Porter's father, Samuel Fenwick Porter. Andrew and Samuel grew up on the Porter family farm in Long Run, a community just northwest of Vevay. Samuel later moved to Peru, Ind. (about 150 miles northwest of Vevay), where Cole Porter was born in 1891. Andrew Porter died in 1930.
