Key West in Monroe County, Florida — The American South (South Atlantic)
The W.H. Albury House
Key West Art & Historical Society
This house consists of three structures that reflect the growth of the island and lack of building materials and skilled labor during the 19th century. The original corner house, built by William Henry Albury, tripled in size with the addition of two houses moved from nearby sites in 1898. In 1900, the family opened a general merchandise store in the additions while retaining the rest of the house as their residence. The Albury family lived here for nearly 130 years.
