The Vine cricket ground is one of the oldest in existence and was given to the town by the 3rd Duke of Dorset in about 1778. The first fully reported match took place here in 1734.
The pavilion, home to The Vine Club, was erected in 1850 and The Vine Cricket Club hold regular matches on the ground during the season.
The bandstand was built in 1894 and was refurbished in 2014. It is used regularly on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons during the summer for public concerts.
