Boy Scout Cabin
The Boy Scout Cabin was built out of local field stones. The CCC used native materials whenever possible in many of their construction projects. Field stone constructed buildings had many benefits. First, the stones were free and abundant. Second, the finished structure was sturdy and its rustic architecture complimented its use. Finally, the CCC builders learned valuable masonry skills that would help them find good jobs after their enrollments were up.
