Inscription.

(English translation:)

Around 1500, the chapel house was built for the 'Brotherhood of Our Dear Lady'. The Brotherhood organized the worship services in the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe chapel for the many pilgrims who had come to Amersfoort since the discovery of a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary.

The distinctive Gothic brick facade was restored in 1905, with the angled pinnacles in the gable top again crowned with sandstone finials.
