Theodorus Johannes Majofski 1770-1836
Hij was een Nederlands toneelspeler, zanger en directeur. Reeds op jonge leeftijd sloot hij zich aan bij rondreizende gezelschappen. Zijn toneeldebuut in Amsterdam vond in 1791 plaats in de Amsterdamsche Schouwburg aan het Leidseplein. Een jaar later sloot hij zich aan bij het door zijn vriend Andries Snoek opgerichte gezelschap Nederduitsche Tooneelisten.
He was a Dutch actor, singer and director. Already at a young age he was employed by traveling acting companies. His stage debut in Amsterdam took place in 1791 in the Amsterdamsche Schouwburg on the Leidseplein. A year later he joined the Nederduitsche Tooneelisten company founded by his friend Andries Snoek.

Overview (in translation): Theodorus Johannes (Theo) Majofski (Leiden, July 16, 1771 – Amsterdam, February 22, 1836) was a Dutch stage actor, singer and theater director. With Andries Snoek, Helena Snoek, Anna Maria Snoek, Geertruida Jacoba Hilverdink, Johanna Cornelia Wattier and Ward Bingley, he was one of the most famous actors of the classicist theater, which flourished during this period. Legacy: Theo Majofski, together with Andries Snoek, was seen as the best actor of his time. He received critical acclaim during his lifetime for his natural playing in both comedies and tragedies. There was also criticism because he sometimes interpreted roles as he saw fit. He was immensely popular, not only because of his acting but also because he was always cheerful and warm-hearted.
