Stanley School
Named Stanley School for Sherman Stanley, this red brick school was built in 1883 on Bray Road, about one quarter mile from the entrance to Crossroads Village.

Many Michigan children attended one-room schools as late as the middle of the 20th century. These schools typically educated all of the children in a geographic area. Students were organized into several different grades, all taught by the same teacher.
Stanley School was relocated to Crossroads Village in 1975. The first classroom of touring students learned a lesson in the one-room schoolhouse here on April 1, 1976.
