This organization, the oldest in Pennsylvania, was
organized as the Pittsburgh Light Infantry - 1792

Became Pittsburgh Blues in 1809

Served in War of 1812

The Jackson Independent Blues of 1820
became Washington Infantry in 1855

Served with Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry
in 1861 for three months in the Civil War

Served with 102nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry
from 1861 to 1865 in the War Between the States

Furnished a score of officers and enlisted men for service
in Spanish-American War in 1898 and World War I in 1917.
