This monument memorializes the great artist from Ponce who interpreted the immortal soul of Puerto Rico in his writing.

1857 • 1896 • 1926 The Municipal Archives of Ponce and in the San Juan Athenaeum feature the records for this monument.

Tribute to the people At the initiative of the Juan Morel Campos Musical Society. The Executive Commission made up of Messrs. Manuel P. Martinez, Domingo Cruz and Carlos O. Georgetti was appointed to erect this monument.
