Avenue in 1920.…

Following the Smiths’ occupancy, Fred A. Russell and his wife Myra Parker Russell, owned the house from 1926 to 1966. According to the application, Fred Russell was a professor of economics and business. His mark on the University was not just as a professor, though, as he was also the Director of the University of Illinois Athletic Association and was instrumental in the financing of the building of Memorial Stadium and furnishing the Illini Union.
