[English translation:]
"The Jíbaro de Peñuelas" (1878 - September 17, 1972). Musician, composer, troubadour, he played guitar and tiple (his greatest skill). His parents were Juan Pacheco and Vicenta Alvarado. He was married to Antonia Delgado Jácome. He passed away at the age of 94 and is buried in the municipal cemetery of Peñuelas. He wrote the book "El Tiple Puertorriqueño", the only book on this subject that was published. He is known as one of the best musicians from Peñuelas.

He was born during Spainish rule and was considered a titan of the tenth, despite his little school education. To comments on the matter, he replied: "What do nightingales know about grammar and music?"

He also wrote: "El Aguinaldo" and "Al Son de Mi Tiple Doliente" and among them a farce entitled "El Negrito Caledonio". He composed décimas and aguinaldos for more than seventy years.

In 1990, a statue of his likeness was unveiled in the public square. Note the cuatro is placed on it, based on the fame of the cuatristas from Peñuelas. The sculptor was Luis H. Vega Rodríguez. At present, the statue is located on the land of the south detour on the Quebrada Santo Domingo Bridge.
