Oudste bebouwing dateert uit 1466. Rond 1700 kwam dit gebouw daarvoor in de plaats. Van 1724 tot 1731 bewoond door Ds Jacques Saurin, predikant Waalse gemeente. Van 1733-1752 eigendom van Stephanus Laurentius Neale, grondlegger van de koffiecultuur in Suriname. Van 1764 tot 1795 vestiging van het Logement van de Heeren der Admiraliteit op de Maze. In 1803 bewoond door de gezant van Rusland. Van 1836- 1842 eigendom van Mr Jacob Dirk Carel baron van Heeckeren, heer van Nettelhorst, Borculo, Wassenaar, Lage, Twickel, Weldam en Olidam, Obdam, Spierdam, Hensbroek, Wogmeer, Zuidwijk en Kernheim, kamerheer en opperstalmeester des Konings. Van 1842 tot 1854 Haagse residentie van Prinses Sophie, dochter van Koning Willem II, gehuwd met Groothertog Karel Alexander van Saksen-Weimar-Eisenach. Sedert 1994 eigendom Stichting Centrum Arbeidsverhoudingen Overheidspersoneel (CAOP).

The oldest building dates from 1466. This building replaced it around 1700. From 1724 to 1731 inhabited by Rev. Jacques Saurin, pastor of the Walloon community. From 1733-1752 owned by Stephanus Laurentius Neale, initiator of the growing of coffee in Suriname. From 1764 to 1795 establishment of the Lodge of the Lords of the Admiralty on the Maze. Inhabited in 1803 by the envoy of Russia. From 1836-1842 owned by Mr. Jacob Dirk Carel Baron van Heeckeren, Lord of Nettelhorst, Borculo, Wassenaar, Lage, Twickel, Weldam and Olidam, Obdam, Spierdam, Hensbroek, Wogmeer, Zuidwijk and Kernheim, Chamberlain and Chief Equerry of the King. From 1842 to 1854 it was the Hague residence of Princess Sophie, daughter of King Willem II, married to Grand Duke Karel Alexander of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. Since 1994 owned by the Foundation Center for Labor Relations for Government Personnel (CAOP).
