[English translation:]
Known as "The Great War"; the war that would end all wars. Between songs and cheers, our compatriots marched directly into the grim reality of 20th century fighting. Poison gas, machine guns, tanks, aircraft carriers and submarines were devastating innovations. We fight in the trenches, at sea and in the air. We helped make the world safe for democracy, but it was only the beginning.
