Antwerpse beeldhouwer uit de zeventiende eeuw. Na zijn studie verhuisde hij in 1648 naar Amsterdam, waar hij zijn grootste opdracht kreeg, de decoratie van het nieuwe Stadhuis op de Dam. Vanaf 1650 heeft hij hier veertien jaar lang aan gewerkt.

(English translation:)

Antwerp sculptor from the seventeenth century. After his studies he moved to Amsterdam in 1648, where he received his largest commission, the decoration of the new Town Hall on Dam Square. From 1650 he worked on this for fourteen years.

2. Artus Quellinus Marker - wide view
August 1609, Antwerp – 23 August 1668, Antwerp) was a Flemish sculptor. He is regarded as the most important representative of the Baroque in sculpture in the Southern Netherlands. He worked for a long period in the Dutch Republic and operated large workshops both in Antwerp and Amsterdam. His work had a major influence on the development of sculpture in Northern Europe.
