1. Spaarndammerstraat Marker
Spaarndam is een dorp en voormalige gemeente aan het Noorder Buiten Spaarne. Het is ontstaan rond een dam bij de monding van het Spaarne in het IJ. Graaf Floris V van Holland liet in 1285 deze dam aanleggen. Het plaatsje leefde van de tol bij deze dam en vooral ook van de visserij.
Spaarndam is a village and former municipality at the Noorder Buiten (northern outer) Spaarne. It originated around a dam at the mouth of the Spaarne where it meets the the IJ. Count Floris V of Holland had this dam built in 1285. The town lived off the tolls collected at this dam as well as the fisheries, too.
