Regarding The Ezekiel Boyden Home. Boyden (1821-1894), a two-term mayor of Urbana in the 1850s, owned a successful plow and wagon factory on Main Street. The pre-Civil War vernacular house originally sat at 303 West Elm Street, where then-U.S. Senate candidate

Abraham Lincoln stayed the night of September 24-25, 1858, during the Lincoln-Douglas Debates. It is the only documented building still standing in Urbana that Lincoln visited. The house was moved to its present location around 1900.
