Poeta, periodista, politico y hombre de estado una de las figuras mas carismaticas de la historia puertorriqueña, como servidor de su pueblo y durante su carrera publica. Fue siempre un paladin constante de la justicia social y un fiel mantenedor de los principios de igualidad y derechos humanos.

"A los pueblos como a los hombres, la democracia los declara iguales en dignidad."

"No pierdas nunca no pierdas, nunca la confianza en tu propia voluntad. La confianza en tu propia voluntad mas que en hombre alguno sobre la tierra no pierdas nunca la confianza en tu voluntad; puertorriqueño. Reerva siempre tu voluntad la edad de entendimiento, sensatez y firmeza de desicion esa es tu fuerza no soy yo tu fuerza."

"Un pueblo que confia en si mismo tiene que proponerse constantemente transformar la esperanza de un tiempo en la historia de otro."

[English translation:]
Poet, journalist, politician and statesman, one of the most charismatic figures in Puerto Rican history, as a servant of his people and during his public career. He was always a constant champion of social justice and a faithful maintainer of the principles of equality and human rights.

"Peoples like men, democracy declares them equal in dignity."

"Never, ever, ever lose confidence in your own will. Trust in your own will more than in any man on earth. Never lose confidence in your will; Puerto Rican. Always reserve your will the age of understanding, good sense and firmness of decision that is your strength I am not your strength."

"A self-confident people have to constantly transform the hope of one time into the history of another."
