Antiguo Coliseo Municipal construído bajo la gobernación del mariscal de campo D. José Navarro y Herrera, on el propósito de albergar el primer teatro de la diudad. Su primera diedra fue colocada el 21 de septiembre de 1824, inaugurándose el 19 de febrero de 1830. La obra fue completada finalmente en el 1834. La obra ejecutada a un costo de 154,974 pesos, fue concebida de mayor altura, pero consideraciones militares obligaron la reducción de la altura.
