Stanislawa Kolkowska y su hijo Ludwik, agricultores, salvaron a sus vecinos, Herszko Kreplak y Chana Cegiel, de una muerta segura en el campo de concentración en Treblinka como los demás judíos del pueblo. Les proveian alimento mientras estos se escondían en el bosque. Nombraron a su perro Herzko y le daban instrucciones para así dejarle saber a Herszko y Chana por donde andaban los nazis. Finalmente los escondieron en su propiedad hasta que los rusos liberaron al pueblo en agosto 1944. La familia Kolowska también salvó a Jankiel Kreplak, Chaim Zylberman e Imka Akselrod durante la Guerra.

Stanislawa Kolkowska and her son Ludwikocal farmers saved their neighbors Herszko Kreplak and Chana Cegiel, from the fate of all the other Jews in town who were sent to Treblinka. They provided Herszko and Chana with food while they hid in the forest. They named their dog after Herszko, and could shout commands to the dog where to go, thus letting Herszko and Chana know if the Nazis were close by. Finally they hid Herszko and Chana in their property until August 1944, when the Russians liberated the town. the same family
