Commercial building constructed as rental property for clothiers Isaac Shrier (1841-1920), native of Bavaria, and his wife, Betsy Willner (1850-1916), native of Austria. Initial tenants on the first floor were the Coast Line Café and The Peoples Supply Co., grocers. The second floor housed the Coast Line Hotel. In fulfillment of Shrier’s vision for a lecture hall, the Order of the Eagles, a men’s fraternal club, occupied the third floor. The building remained in the Shrier family for 106 years.
