Inscription.
Queen Anne style house built for Dr. Albert Marion Baldwin (1845-1934) dentist, and wife, Emma Mitchell (1845-1909). Remained in family until 1936.

Nomination:

Built for dentist, Dr. Albert Baldwin, the two-story Queen Anne house has projecting, polygonal, pedimented bay with peaked attic window with stained glass. The front porch has a corner gazebo with finial, spindle frieze, and turned posts.

(Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina)
Resided in Cumberland County, NC and enlisted at Fort Fisher, Hanover County, NC at age 18, April 15, 1863 for the war in Company K, 3rd Regiment North Carolina Artillery. Captured at Fort Fisher January 15, 1865 and confined in the Union prison in Elmira, N.Y., until released after taking Oath of Allegiance June 12, 1865. Became a Dentist after the War.
